Apologies for showing up unusually in your inbox today🙃
The night before Christmas was always one of my favorite nights of the year when growing up.
It was the night we all went to my Grandma’s house for a copious dinner and lots of laughter and warmth (literally, as it was a very small living room and we were something like 16 people).
This was my Mum’s side of the family (my Dad’s side was never that close and they lived in a parallel world of catholic indoctrination).
At my Grandma they were chilled…although yes, everyone there got baptised, took the first communion (me included 😖) and, of-bloody-course, got married before the eyes of the almighty God at the church.
But you know, it was all “let’s do what everyone else does and not stand out so our life is easier” kind of hive thinking.
No one in my family was a black sheep.
I wasn’t either at that age, my weirdness came up later in life, I was just a kid after all (can you picture that?).
So those nights were…magical.
Not only we knew we had presents the next day but also got to have foods we did not eat during the year (now there is so much available ALL-THE-TIME).
Back then in the 80s we did not have the world at our fingertips and we valued things way more.
And further back in the 50s my Dad had a horse made out of cardboard as Christmas present and my Grandma in the 30s just an orange (true story).
But, well, those times are gone…
And I am not talking about ‘my own family gatherings’ (which stopped as well once we were simply too many people to fit in there many years ago) but I am talking about “those times” for all of US.
Society is not functional anymore
Honestly, I don’t want to depress you (stop reading now if you feel uneasy) but, hiding our head in the sand is not going to help us one bit.
Enough is enough.
We can confidently say that the last 2,000 years at least (that is taking as valid the whole Jesus Christ story which, I mean, none of us were there to prove it) have gone wrong.
Don’t you feel in your blood and bones that “things” are not quite right?
I’ll refresh your mind:
There are, not one, but several wars going on forever where people kill each other and bombs are thrown killing people.
There is hunger in some parts of the world and, in others, people overeat and get sick and food is being, literally, thrown away.
There is a small percentage of the population who have more money or wealth than they, or their next generations, be able to use up, and not only that, but they still want to get richer and get more.
On the other hand, a massive-big-huge percentage of the population struggles on a daily basis to get by.
I could go on much longer but…isn’t that enough?
Would you say that this world is…working?
My view is that the world has been dysfunctional for the last (again, at least) 2,000 years or, in particular, since the few decided they had the power to rule the world as they pleased.
My friend, this is not a conspiracy theory, I hope you are not thinking that at this point because it is a FACT.
As simple as.
So, what is my point on Xmas Eve?
To ruin it for you?
Of course not!!
I want to bring a little of awareness of what is going on, which is:
It is time for change as it was written by the ancients millennia ago
(believe it or not)
So what am I on about?
I am an agent of change.
Remember that to change the world, you need to start with yourself and most people are not even open to consider that they need to change anything OR, even worse, that they CANNOT change anything because they have no power.
That is straight BS.
I’ll cut the crap here (for now) since it is a holly-jolly-Polly night but, remember that it is just a concept, a man-made tradition, a story in our minds.
A story created for us but not by us.
If you want to enjoy it, please do it, I will, as much as I possibly can.
Anything that is done consciously and with awareness is contributing to this new world we desperately need.
So be it.
But, please, take a moment tonight or tomorrow…or how about the New Year?
Let’s plant some seeds (resolutions) that are resonant, not only for YOUR OWN good but for the good of the whole.
Let’s look at ourselves and start knowing who we are.
And I mean who we really are and what is the purpose of life.
I hope this resonates with you and want to stay with me here for the crazy ride that the next few years is going to be.
I am excited if I am honest.
But is going to require some work, I am not gonna lie.
Here’s a video with a little message for you and a concept that I want to introduce.
Love,
Rose 🌹
