I just saw an Instagram account baking perfect gigantic cakes. It is a few weeks old and has millions of views. That’s the wet dream of any creator. In the comments, people freaking out: “we’re cooked'“, “this is the end of social media”… and I thought: “Wait a minute… that’s the best sentence I’ve heard in a longtime!”
AI can now create anything and, in a few months, I bet you we won’t know what’s real and what’s not (so far, I kinda can tell but my mum can’t and is falling in love with AI singers on TikTok 🙄).
People keep saying that authenticity is the key.
Fuck that.
None of us is authentic, we go through life wearing masks all the time, that’s how this game of life works.
Think about this and let’s use the baking account as an example: for a real human creating baking content implies: buying ingredients, prepping, actually baking, filming, editing, trying to be authentic and funny and engaging, posting, being consistent…and all of that to get what?… 257 views 😣
There comes AI, a video in a matter of minutes, therefore hundreds in, probably, a day, looking great, posting it and…4.4 million views.
I mean…hello?
Why would you want to be baking cakes for Instagram anymore??
Yes, yes…you could say: “Because is my passion, I have been a baker for 20 years, I love it, blah, blah, blah…”
Yeah, right. That’s half the truth because, if so, then keep doing your thing. The other half truth is that you’ve built a business with it (nothing wrong with that of course) and now it is not working as it used to perhaps or, if it still is, you’re scared AI will take over.
That’s a genuine concern, of course, not dismissing any of it but let me offer a different perspective:
The current state of social media (it i not “social” but “commercial”) is that, in order to keep up with the numbers, you need to be a fucking content producing machine (ask me about it 🙄) so…
what if the actual machines are now here to do their job?
What if baking (or whatever else you share on socials) is your passion then you bake a cake (one, not 5 a week) because so?! just to share with your people, to enjoy the process and then …to fucking eat it.
What if AI is here to take over the bad and make us go back to the good:
life, real life.
The only people freaking out about AI ruining it all are the ones who still chase the online business carrot desperately or the ones who made the millions back in the day and are now seeing their businesses tank…yes, the world is changing, both, the real and the online one.
I am not saying it’s bad to make money online (come on! how could I?) I am saying that maybe it is time to question when enough is enough and look into what have we given up in real life.
Let the machines do their things and let’s be human again.
I talk about it here.

Social media isn't even social,99% of the creators don't care what random people have to say in comments,so why not let ai take over
